VALUES & COmmitments
Bringing joy through my work is at the core of my practice, as is imagining equitable futures. I believe that in order to dream of more just worlds, it is imperative to dismantle all systems of oppression in this one——including any and all forms white supremacy, racism, colorism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, colonialism and imperialism. I will not work on any project that upholds these systems.
I am very grateful to the friends, teachers and colleagues who have taken the time to educate me, and though I am far from perfect, as a Black biracial, queer and neurodiverse artist, this commitment is deeply important to me. I promise be accountable and to try my best.
Process
It all begins with an idea. And then some small, quick thumbnail sketches to capture mood. Perhaps you want your illustration to tell a story, or let you portal to another planet. Rustbeak and I are here to imagine, dream, and draw.
